Photo Snack – Find the Right Point of View

By NYIP Staff on January 28, 2015

Welcome to another NYIP Photo Snack! In this week’s video, we learn about creating a relationship between the subject of a photograph and the viewer of a photograph.

When taking a photograph, think about the story you want to tell. Want to develop an immediate connection between the viewer and the subject? Have them look right into the camera. If you instead want to tell a story or show an activity, try a fly on the wall point of view.

The point of view of a photograph is like the voice a writer would use to tell a story. Choosing a different point of view will change the nature of the photograph. So find the one that tells the right story.

Want to learn how to become a professional photographer? NYIP offers a professional photography course that will give you the skills and confidence you need to learn how to make money with your photography.
