Welcome to another NYIP Photo Snack! In this week’s video, we find out that just like regular storytelling, visual storytelling is all about the 5 W’s and 1 H.
A photo needs to tell a story. It needs to tell us what is happening, why it is happening, when it is happening, to who is it happening, and where is it happening. And finally, it should tell us how it is happening.
When you take a great photograph, anyone looking at it will be able to answer these questions in a moment’s time. As you get more comfortable with picture-taking, this will become second nature to you.
Want to learn photography? The New York Institute of Photography has been educating photographers all over the world for over 100 years. Find out more about our online photography classes today!
